Finite element analysis of the foot has great potential to understand foot complications. In addition, simulation-based design of surgical and therapeutic interventions is possible to avoid potentially harmful loading of the body segment.
This workshop will provide an application-oriented summary of the finite element analysis with a focus on foot and footwear problems in biomechanics. An overview of finite element analysis principles will be provided first. Next, the procedures to apply this powerful computational modeling and simulation technique to footwear problems will be summarized. A hands-on analysis and discussion session will conclude the workshop.
